Clean Water Initiative
In December 2003 the USEPA
enacted significantly more stringent regulations for waste water
discharged by Centralized Waste Water Treatment Facilities (CWTs). CWTs
serve the manufacturing industry by providing wastewater clean up that
would be prohibitively expensive for companies to execute themselves.
General Oil Company supports new regulations that will lead to more
sustainable business practices and a cleaner environment. We are
responding to these challenges with our Clean Water Initiative.
New
Treatment Technologies
The new regulations require CWTs to upgrade their water treatment
process and monitor the discharge with more frequent laboratory
testing. Following considerable research, General Oil has developed a
waste water treatment technology that maximizes contaminant removal.
Furthermore, our in-house laboratory company, Waste Compliance
Services, enables more efficient monitoring of wastewater and faster
turn-around times.
Our
Commitment Reduces Customer Liability
Our experienced personnel have a long history of responding to
challenges in our industry and meeting environmental regulatory
requirements. In October of 2000, General Oil Company became the first
oil recycling company in Michigan to gain ISO-14001 Certification. We
bring this same dedication to our Clean Water Initiative.
For over 40 years, General
Oil Company has produced high quality products made from recycled oil
while providing savings to our customers and promoting a sustainable
environment. We give our customers peace of mind by meeting the highest
environmental standards and, as a result, reduce their liability. We
appreciate the confidence our customer’s have shown us in the past, and
can assure you that we will continue to earn it in the future.
